Agent Reputation & Media in Football Agent
Reputation tiers, media pressure, social feed, and how your public profile shapes every deal
Every action you take as an agent ripples outward beyond the negotiation room. Your reputation determines which players will even consider signing with you, which clubs will return your calls, and how the game world perceives your agency. The media system amplifies this — a string of good deals earns press coverage that opens doors; a scandal or reputation hit closes them. Understanding how reputation and media work together is what separates agents who build lasting empires from those who flame out after one bad season.
The reputation system
Your agency has a reputation score that governs every relationship in the game. The score is not a single number — it is a tier system with five levels, each carrying distinct advantages and constraints.
Reputation tiers
Unknown — You start here. Clubs and players have no opinion of your agency. Negotiations proceed on the merits of the deal alone. This is not a disadvantage; it is an opportunity to build reputation without scrutiny.
Emerging — Achieved by completing your first few client signings successfully. You appear in club scouting reports and players begin to recognise your name. The game starts treating your agency as a real participant.
Established — Reached by consistently placing clients over multiple seasons. Clubs begin approaching you proactively with mandates. Players at mid-tier clubs will take your calls. This is the most common tier for long-save players.
Respected — The threshold where your reputation starts working for you passively. Clubs offer exclusive mandates. Players with multiple suitors will choose you over rivals based on trust. High-potential wonderkids list your agency as a preferred partner.
Legendary — The top tier. Your agency name alone moves transfer markets. You receive mandates from top-flight clubs automatically. Players negotiate with you differently — they assume your deals are fair and your guidance is sound.
What raises reputation
- Placing a client at a club above their current level
- Completing a deal against active rival agent competition
- Building a long relationship with a player through multiple signings
- Earning awards through the Season Archive system
- Consistently negotiating above-market fees for clients
- Maintaining a clean record (no reputation damage events)
What damages reputation
- Abandoning a player mid-negotiation after collecting information
- Repeatedly overpromising and underdelivering on playing time
- Accepting mandates you cannot fulfil
- Losing clients to rival agents repeatedly
- Any event that involves media scandal or breach of trust
Media pressure
The media system in Football Agent tracks your public profile through the social feed. Every significant action generates a story that other agents, clubs, and players read and react to.
Social feed
The social feed is a scrolling log of football world events visible from the agency dashboard. It includes:
- Your own completed transfers and deal highlights
- Rival agent activity (their deals, their reputation moves)
- Transfer rumours that mention your clients
- Club reputation announcements
- Player form updates and award winners
As of the August 2026 translation fixes update, social feed content is fully translated into all supported languages. Previously, some feed entries were showing Turkish text in non-Turkish language settings.
Media events
Periodic events trigger that involve media pressure. These are not just flavour — they have gameplay consequences:
- Transfer rumour exposure — If a deal you are negotiating leaks to the media, rival agents gain awareness and may interrupt. The player’s interest in your agency drops. This is one reason to close negotiations quickly once terms are agreed.
- Media profile boost — After placing a client at a top club or completing a high-profile deal, your media profile rises. This provides a temporary reputation bonus that attracts new clients.
- Scandal events — Rare events where your agency is publicly implicated in misconduct. You face a choice: fight the story and spend resources, or issue a quiet apology that damages trust but preserves cash.
The August 2026 patch notes confirm that decision cards in events now show correctly translated labels for media pressure and media profile in all languages.
Club relationships
Your relationship with each club is tracked independently of your general reputation. Club relationship is a 0–100 scale that affects how freely clubs work with you.
What affects club relationship
- Direct dealing — Every completed transfer at a club raises your relationship with that club.
- Mandate fulfilment — Clubs issue mandates (requests for specific player types). Successfully fulfilling a mandate raises relationship significantly. Failing or ignoring mandates damages it.
- Rival poaching — Signing a player away from a club you have a good relationship with damages that relationship. The size of the hit is proportional to how important the player was to that club.
- Press comments — Some events let you make public statements about clubs. Supportive comments raise relationship; critical ones damage it.
Why club relationships matter
A high club relationship unlocks:
- Exclusive mandate offers (only you are asked to find a player)
- Faster negotiation (clubs skip some procedural steps with trusted agents)
- Advance knowledge of transfer targets before other agents
- Better terms on sell-on clauses (clubs accept higher percentages from trusted agents)
Reputation and player trust
Players have individual trust in your agency that is separate from your overall reputation. A player who trusts you will accept lower wages in exchange for a better sporting project. A player who does not trust you will demand maximum financial terms as insurance against your unreliability.
Building player trust takes multiple successful interactions. The trust system means that one-off deal agents are always negotiating at a financial disadvantage compared to agents with established client relationships.
The August 2026 balance changes closed an exploit where repeated cash spending could raise relationship and motivation gestures without limit. Relationship-building is now bounded — you cannot simply buy player affection on loop.
Managing reputation long-term
The agents who reach Legendary reputation share common habits:
Never abandon a negotiation mid-process. If you open a conversation with a player, see it through. The information asymmetry that comes from collecting player interest data and then walking away is a known agent behaviour — clubs and players share notes.
Build specialisation. An agency known for placing strikers gets more striker mandates. Specialisation compounds your reputation in specific circles rather than spreading thin across every player type.
Protect high-value clients. A wonderkid who signs with you, develops under your guidance, and moves to a top club for a record fee is worth more to your reputation than ten routine transfers. Protect the clients who define your agency’s identity.
Use the Season Archive. Awards and recognition recorded in your career archive feed back into your reputation. Long-save players who accumulate trophies, cup wins, and league championships are building a narrative that the game world reads.
Cross-system notes
- How to sign clients — reputation affects which players will engage with you initially
- Rival agents — reputation determines whether you win head-to-head competitions
- Club ownership — club presidents have separate relationship tracking with clubs they own or invest in
- Career system — Season Archive awards feed reputation over time
- Random events — media events are part of the event system
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What are the reputation tiers in Football Agent?
Five tiers: Unknown (start), Emerging (first deals), Established (consistent performance), Respected (passive advantages), and Legendary (market-moving agency). Each tier unlocks different passive benefits.
How do I raise my reputation fastest?
Place clients above their current level, win deals against rival agents, and maintain a clean record with no reputation damage events. Specialising in one player type or league also compounds your reputation faster than spreading thin.
Does the social feed affect gameplay?
Indirectly. Transfer rumours in the feed can leak to rival agents, who may then interrupt your negotiations. High-profile deals in the feed boost your media profile, attracting new clients temporarily.
Can I repair a damaged reputation?
Yes, but it takes time. Complete successful deals consistently, fulfil club mandates, and avoid further damage events. Reputation recovery is slower than reputation damage.
What happened to media labels in the August 2026 update?
Five decision card labels related to media pressure and media profile were showing untranslated in every language. These were fixed in the August 26 hotfix. The social feed also had Turkish text appearing in other language settings — this was corrected in the August 27 translation sweep.
