Career System — Football Agent

This page documents the career tracking and progression systems in Football Agent — Season Archive, player Career History tab, masteries, and the bonuses that accumulate over a long save. All information is drawn from community gameplay and official ATERO GAMES announcements.

Season Archive

The Season Archive tab inside My Career records every completed season in your save. It is added to automatically as each season ends. The archive stores:

  • League champions for every league in your database
  • Cup winners for every cup competition
  • Your agency’s awards — any recognition your agency earned that season
  • Season-by-season agency growth — a record of how your business expanded

The archive solves a problem that long-save players hit: after season five, the blur of results makes it hard to remember which save was which, or what actually happened in season three. The archive gives each season a fingerprint. It also gives context when a long-serving client wants to review their history before signing a new deal.

Open the Season Archive from the My Career screen. Scroll back through any season to see who won what, and use that record to narrate a client’s career when you are negotiating their next move.

Player Career History tab

Every player file gained a Career History tab as of the 27 August 2026 update. Previously, the only record of a player’s past was your own memory or external notes. Now the game tracks:

  • Matches played per season
  • Goals per season
  • Assists per season
  • Average match rating per season
  • OVR (overall rating) progression season by season

This history is the context that was missing when deciding whether a client is stalling, peaking, or ready for a move. A player whose rating peaked at season three and has not improved despite regular minutes is a different prospect from one whose trajectory is still upward. The Career History tab makes that visible without requiring you to remember it yourself.

Use the Career History tab when:

  • Negotiating a new contract — a player with a history of consistent improvement commands a higher wage band
  • Preparing a sales pitch — a client whose rating has plateaued needs a different story than one whose trend is still rising
  • Deciding whether to develop or sell — a wonderkid still on an upward OVR curve is worth holding; a client at their ceiling is a candidate for a sell-on clause deal

Masteries

Masteries are long-term progression unlocks that reward sustained agency growth. Each mastery has a threshold requirement and grants a permanent passive bonus for the rest of the save. The two masteries documented from the 27 August 2026 balance pass are:

Empire Builder

Requirement: Grow your agency to a significant scale — multiple staff, international presence, and sustained high reputation.

Bonus: +2 player capacity across your entire roster. Academy graduates and contracted clients both count toward this capacity. Before the 27 August fix, academy graduates were not receiving this bonus — the extra slots were invisible or broken. The fix applies the bonus everywhere.

When to pursue: Empire Builder is the mastery for agents who want to carry a large roster. If you manage 10+ clients simultaneously, the +2 capacity can be the difference between turning away a valuable prospect and signing them.

Dynasty

Requirement: Sustained success over multiple seasons — winning awards, placing players, and maintaining a top-tier reputation.

Bonus: +2 player capacity. Functions identically to Empire Builder and stacks with it. The combined +4 capacity makes Dynasty the capstone for agencies that have reached scale.

When to pursue: Dynasty comes after Empire Builder in a natural progression. If you are already running a large agency and the capacity ceiling is your constraint, Dynasty removes it.

Other masteries

Early Access is ongoing; ATERO GAMES has indicated that more mastery categories will be added during the Early Access window. The roadmap tracks what is confirmed. Community players report that mastery XP is earned through agency actions — placing players, winning awards, growing revenue — rather than through any dedicated mastery interface.

Long-save progression loop

A well-run Football Agent save follows a recognisable arc:

  1. Survival — first client, first commission, stabilising weekly costs
  2. Growth — building a scout network, first staff hires, landing consistent mandates
  3. Scale — multiple clients, regional or international office, high reputation
  4. Mastery — hitting mastery thresholds, maximising capacity, running a large roster profitably

The Season Archive and Career History tab serve the later stages of this loop most directly. By season five or six, the archive is your record of the journey, and the Career History tab is the evidence you show a club when proposing a client for a mandate.

Cross-system notes

  • Mastery capacity bonuses (+2 from Empire Builder, +2 from Dynasty) interact directly with the economy system. A larger roster generates more commission but also increases weekly wage costs. Run the numbers before expanding.
  • The Season Archive feeds the narrative of how to sell players — a client with a trophy-winning history is a better sales pitch than one with an anonymous record.
  • Club Mandates (documented on the economy page) become more impactful as your client roster grows. The Career History tab makes it easy to match mandate requirements against client records quickly.
  • Masteries that increase player capacity do not bypass the staff and agency system. Staff wages, headquarters upgrades, and scout quality all still apply independently.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Where is the Season Archive?

Open My Career from the main menu. The Season Archive tab is inside it, alongside your agency overview. Every completed season is recorded automatically.

What does the Career History tab show?

It records matches, goals, assists, average rating, and OVR for each season of a player's career. This was added in the 27 August 2026 update.

Do Empire Builder and Dynasty stack?

Yes. Empire Builder grants +2 player capacity and Dynasty grants another +2, for a total of +4 when both are unlocked. Both bonuses apply to the full roster.

Were mastery bonuses working at launch?

No. Empire Builder and Dynasty's +2 capacity bonus was missing or invisible for academy graduates at launch. The 27 August 2026 balance pass fixed this so the bonus now applies across the entire roster.

Are there more masteries beyond Empire Builder and Dynasty?

The roadmap indicates more mastery categories will be added during Early Access. Check the [roadmap](/updates/roadmap/) for the current confirmed list.
